Chapter 759

Liam Cooper's face instantly changed.

His fingers tightened slightly.

His eyes flickered uncertainly.

Chloe Raymond was also stunned.

She looked hesitantly at Liam, then at Mia Truman.

The friends around them exchanged glances.

Someone lowered their voice and asked, "Chloe, your boyfriend... he isn't really faking it, is he?"

Chloe immediately glared at that person.

She turned and grabbed Liam's arm.

"Liam, don't listen to her! She's just jealous of us, deliberately talking nonsense here!"

Liam took a deep breath.

He abruptly stood up.

He strode over to Mia and grabbed her wrist.

"Mia Truman, haven't you caused enough trouble?"

Mia expressionlessly pulled her hand back.

Evelyn Ross and Natalie Castillo wanted to step forward.

But Sebastian Truman raised a hand to stop them.

Sebastian said calmly, "A Truman child can handle things herself."

Evelyn raised an eyebrow but didn't move.

Natalie muttered quietly, "What kind of time is this to let her handle it herself?"

Sebastian glanced at her.

"Just watch."

The few of them stood to the side, quietly watching the scene.

Seeing Mia pull her hand back, Liam sneered.

"Fine, stay if you want. Just don't get in the way here."

He turned to look at Chloe.

Chloe's eyes darted.

She smiled and stepped forward.

"Liam, there are many guests today. The waitstaff is busy."

"Why not let her stay and pour drinks for us? It would be more convenient, don't you think?"

Hearing this, Mia suddenly laughed.

"Is this your family's bar?"

Liam's expression stiffened.

He immediately lowered his voice and snapped, "Just pour the drinks when you're told! No more nonsense!"

Natalie leaned close to Sebastian's ear.

"Isn't this bar owned by the Evans family?"

Sebastian nodded.

"The Evans family operates it. The Trumans are behind it."

The Evans family were agents for the Trumans.

That's why Mrs. Evans dared to challenge the Ashcrofts.

Everyone in this bar knew who Mia was.

When she came to drink, it was always on a tab, settled uniformly at the end of the month.

Every time Liam brought people here, he relied on being able to run a tab.

Evelyn and Natalie exchanged a look.

They both saw disdain in each other's eyes.

Using someone else's bar to show off.

And even trying to kick out the owner...

This person was truly shameless to the extreme.

They looked at Mia again, wanting to see how she would respond.

Mia stared at Liam for a few seconds, then suddenly smiled.

That smile held despair.

It held disappointment.

Finally, it transformed into a sense of release.

Natalie said excitedly, "The young lady is about to lose her temper!"

But the next second, Mia spoke calmly.

"What wine would you like to drink?"

Natalie's eyes widened.

"She... she's still going to serve them?"

Evelyn curved her lips.

"Don't worry. The good part is yet to come."

Mia looked at Liam.

"The bar has two bottles of Romanée-Conti. Shall we open them?"

Liam's eyes lit up.

He knew about those two bottles.

They were the bar's prized treasures.

Extremely expensive, usually not sold to the public at all.

Was Mia trying to curry favor with him using wine?

Liam felt smug inside.

But on the surface, he pretended to be reserved.

"Open them."

Mia lowered her eyes.

"One bottle is one point six eight million. Two bottles are three point three six million. Are you sure?"

Instantly, gasps sounded around them.

Chloe exclaimed, "That expensive?"

Her friends immediately began to flatter him.

"Mr. Cooper is so generous!"

"We're really getting a treat today!"

"A sip worth a fortune!"

Liam, buoyed by the praise, lifted his chin.

"Just open them when told. Why so much talk?"

Mia smiled.

"I'll ask one more time. Three point three six million. Are you sure you want to open them?"

Liam waved his hand impatiently.

"Open them!"

Mia nodded.

She turned and walked towards the bar.

She said a few words to the bartender.

The bartender immediately nodded respectfully.

He took out two exquisitely packaged bottles from the top shelf of the wine cabinet.

The bottles gleamed with an amber hue under the lights.

Mia carried the wine back and placed it on the table.

Liam looked at Chloe smugly.

"Chloe, today you'll taste what real fine wine is."

Chloe looked at him with admiration.

"Liam, you're amazing!"

Mia pulled the cork.

She poured a glass for everyone.

The aroma of the wine instantly filled the air.

Liam picked up his glass.

He gently swirled it.

He pretended to smell it, then took a small sip.

He closed his eyes, putting on an expression of enjoyment.

Chloe and her friends also raised their glasses, taking small sips.

"So delicious!"

"As expected of a famous wine!"

"Mr. Cooper, you're too generous!"

Liam waved his hand.

"It's nothing."

He looked at Mia, his eyes contemptuous.

"What are you still standing there for? Keep pouring."

Mia didn't move.

She just looked at him quietly, her gaze calm and steady.

Liam felt somewhat uncomfortable under her stare.

He frowned.

"What are you looking at?"

Mia suddenly smiled.

She took out her phone and dialed a number.

The call connected quickly.

Mia spoke calmly into the phone.

"Manager Evans, please come to booth three."

Liam was startled.

"Why are you calling Manager Evans?"

Mia ignored him.

A few minutes later, a middle-aged man in a suit hurried over.

He first bowed respectfully to Mia.

"Young Lady."

Then he looked at Liam.

"Mr. Cooper, is there something you need?"

Liam's face changed.

Why was Manager Evans so respectful to Mia?

Mia pointed at the two bottles of wine on the table.

"These two bottles of Romanée-Conti. Mr. Cooper ordered them. Please settle the bill."

Manager Evans immediately nodded.

"Of course."

He took out a tablet and pulled up the bill.

"Mr. Cooper, two bottles of Romanée-Conti total three point three six million. Will you be paying by card or transfer?"

Liam's face instantly turned deathly pale.

He opened his mouth, but no sound came out.

Chloe also panicked.

"Liam, what... what's going on?"

Her friends looked at each other.

Some had already started quietly moving back.

Liam glared fiercely at Mia.

"You... you set me up?"

Mia laughed.

"I set you up? You were the one who wanted the wine opened. I told you the price. How is that setting you up?"

Liam gritted his teeth.

"I... I don't have the money!"

Manager Evans's face darkened.

"Mr. Cooper, are you joking? You order wine and then say you have no money?"

Cold sweat broke out on Liam's forehead.

He looked at Mia, his eyes pleading.

"Mia, we... we've known each other for so many years. Help me..."

Mia looked at him, her eyes icy.

"Liam Cooper, from the moment you tried to kick me out of this bar, there was no more affection between us."

She turned to Manager Evans.

"Handle it according to the rules."

Manager Evans nodded.

He spoke a few words into his walkie-talkie.

Soon, several security guards walked over.

Manager Evans said coldly, "Mr. Cooper, if you don't settle the bill today, we will have no choice but to involve the police."

Liam's legs went weak.

He collapsed onto the sofa.

Chloe screamed.

"Liam! You lied to me! You're not a rich heir at all!"

She grabbed her bag and turned to run.

Her friends also stood up, scattering like birds and beasts.

Only Liam remained in the booth, his face ashen.

Mia glanced at him, then turned and left.

Evelyn and Natalie followed.

Sebastian walked last.

Passing by Liam, he said calmly, "The Truman family's young lady is not someone you can provoke."

Liam trembled all over.

He watched Mia's retreating figure.

He finally understood.

What he had lost.

Outside the bar.

Mia stopped walking.

She looked up at the night sky.

Evelyn walked to her side.

"Feel better?"

Mia smiled.

"Yes."

Natalie came over.

"Young Lady, you were so cool just now! That's exactly how to deal with him!"

Mia shook her head.

"Actually, it was quite pointless."

Wasting so many years on someone like that.

Evelyn patted her shoulder.

"Let's go. Home."

They got into the car.

The car slowly drove away from the bar.

Mia leaned against the window.

She watched the night scenery speeding past outside.

Memories related to Liam surfaced in her mind, one by one.

Then, they dissipated, one by one.

From now on, this person had nothing to do with her.

She closed her eyes and let out a soft sigh.

Finally, she had let go.

The car disappeared into the night.

Inside the bar, Liam was held by the security guards, his face ashen.

His life, from this moment on, was completely ruined.

And all of this was his own doing.
