Chapter 879

Evelyn's brow furrowed tightly.

After all the trouble to set foot on this island, were they really going to be kicked out now?

She was about to speak when Kingsley's hand came down heavily on her shoulder, the force carrying a warning. "What? Don't want to leave? Then that proves you're up to no good!"

As soon as the words fell, dozens of black-clad bodyguards instantly swarmed from all sides, surrounding them completely, leaving no gaps.

Sienna immediately screamed. "Dad! What are you doing?!"

Kingsley took a deep breath, his gaze toward his daughter full of disappointment. "Sienna, you're too naive. Everyone from the outside who gets close to you has an agenda. Open your eyes and see clearly!"

"I don't believe it!" Sienna shook her head desperately. "Beige just wants a safe place to stay!"

"Foolish!" Kingsley shouted sharply. "Men, take the young lady back to her room to rest. She is not to come out without my permission!"

Two bodyguards immediately stepped forward, grabbing Sienna's arms from left and right.

Sienna struggled fiercely. "Let me go! Don't you dare touch my friends!"

The bodyguards remained expressionless. "Young lady, apologies."

With a slight exertion, they lifted Sienna off her feet entirely and strode quickly toward the staircase.

Evelyn's eyes darkened.

Sienna's shouts came from upstairs. "Dad! If you hurt them, I'll go on a hunger strike! I mean it!"

The sound was finally cut off by a heavy door.

Only then did Kingsley turn to Evelyn and Alexander, his gaze icy. "You two, please. I'll see you off personally."

Evelyn clenched her fist, looking at Alexander.

Alexander gave an almost imperceptible shake of his head.

Evelyn understood his meaning—tearing up the facade now would be walking right into a trap. They were completely surrounded by Kingsley's men. A direct confrontation held no chance of success.

She suppressed the unwillingness in her heart and nodded. "Fine. We'll go."

Kingsley waved a hand. The bodyguards immediately stepped forward, binding their hands behind their backs.

The motorcade drove out of the estate in a grand procession, heading toward the coastline.

Evelyn and Alexander were escorted in Kingsley's personal vehicle, with escort cars in front, behind, left, and right. The entourage was immense.

Kingsley stared at Evelyn and sneered. "Mainlanders are so cunning. You know my daughter is easy to fool, so you specifically target her?"

Evelyn said calmly, "I just met a kind person."

"Cut the act!" Kingsley's eyes were sinister. "Let me tell you, as long as I'm here, no one gets to scheme against Sienna. Today, you must leave this island. See? Front, back, left, right—all my men. You have no way out."

Evelyn looked out the window.

Dozens of black sedans protected their car in the middle, forming a moving wall of steel.

She looked at Alexander, her eyes asking: If we take him hostage, threaten these people to let us go, and then become drifters, is it feasible?

Alexander shook his head slightly, his gaze falling on Kingsley's left hand.

That hand was constantly resting on his waist—where a gun was holstered.

Evelyn's heart tightened.

The interior of the car was cramped. No matter how fast she moved, she couldn't outpace a bullet.

She could only resign herself with a sigh.

The motorcade passed through the bustling city center and finally stopped at the shore.

The vast blue sea stretched to the horizon. The sea breeze carried a salty, damp scent.

Evelyn looked at this sea, feeling only irony.

Had she come to save her mother only to turn this into a "Saint Helena Island day trip"?

Was she really going to be deported just like that?

Kingsley gave her no chance. He directly ordered the bodyguards to escort the two onto a speedboat.

He stood on the dock, waving a hand grandly. "Set sail! Take them away from this island. Never let them approach again!"

The speedboat's engine roared, cutting through the sea surface as it sped toward the vast ocean.

Evelyn looked back. Kingsley's figure on the dock grew smaller and smaller, eventually becoming a black dot.

She clenched her bound hands, her nails digging deep into her palms.

No.

She absolutely could not leave like this.

Her mother was still on this island.

She had to find a way back.

The speedboat raced across the sea, getting farther and farther from the island.

Evelyn looked at Alexander, her gaze resolute.

Alexander read the meaning in her eyes and gave a slight nod.

They both exerted force simultaneously. The ropes on their wrists began to loosen.

The bodyguard piloting the speedboat had his back to them, focused on the path ahead.

Now.

Evelyn suddenly broke free from the ropes, lunging forward in one swift motion to wrap an arm around the bodyguard's neck!

Alexander acted at the same time, seizing the steering wheel.

The speedboat rocked violently on the sea, carving a dangerous arc.

"Jump!" Alexander hissed.

Without hesitation, Evelyn leaped into the sea.

The icy seawater instantly swallowed her.

She struggled upward, breaking the surface just in time to see Alexander jump down as well.

The speedboat, out of control, crashed into a reef with a tremendous roar.

The bodyguard scrambled ashore, shouting into his walkie-talkie. "They jumped! After them!"

Evelyn and Alexander dove underwater, swimming in the opposite direction from the island.

They had to escape pursuit temporarily, then find a way to sneak back onto the island.

The seawater was bitingly cold. Evelyn gritted her teeth, paddling desperately.

Her mother was waiting for her.

She absolutely could not give up.

Night deepened. On the sea surface, only fragments of the speedboat wreckage remained, drifting with the waves.

Two figures had already vanished into the vast ocean.

When Kingsley received the news, his face turned ashen.

"They jumped?" He sneered coldly. "They have some skill. Pass the order: the entire island is on high alert. Strengthen patrols along the coastline. If they dare return, shoot on sight!"

He turned to look at the second-floor window of the villa, where Sienna's room light was still on.

This daughter was, after all, too naive.

He had to protect her, even if it meant using forceful methods.

Kingsley withdrew his gaze, his eyes profound.

This island was far from as peaceful as it appeared on the surface.

Evelyn and Alexander's intrusion might stir up even greater waves.

And he had to control everything.

On the sea, Evelyn and Alexander finally swam to a remote reef area.

The two climbed onto the rocks, soaked to the bone and utterly exhausted.

Evelyn gasped for breath, looking at the distant outline of the island.

The lights were brilliant, like a pearl on the sea.

"We'll go back," she said softly, her tone firm.

Alexander grasped her hand. "Yes."

The night was deep. The sea wind howled.

Their escape had only just begun.

And the secrets of this island were about to be uncovered.
