Chapter 740

Thomas Watson received the order and had just stepped out when Evelyn Ross walked in.

Alexander Vance told Evelyn about Cecilia Evans selling the house.

Evelyn was speechless.

She had no idea what was going on either.

She shook her head with a faint smile.

Then she looked at Alexander.

With his grandmother's recent passing, they had simply slept last night, nothing more.

So Evelyn had some questions she hadn't found the right moment to ask.

She spoke directly, "Do you think the Sterling Family's ability to predict the future is real?"

Alexander had expected this question.

He walked over, put his arm around her shoulders, and guided her to the nearby sofa.

He then took out his laptop, opened it, and handed it to her.

"I knew you'd be curious about this."

"Actually, I've been investigating the Sterling Family myself these past few days."

"These are all the details I've gathered."

"Among them, the Sterling Family's ability to predict the future is their most mysterious trait."

This made Evelyn pause slightly.

Alexander began scrolling through the information on the computer.

"These are all the future predictions the Sterling Family has made publicly since the internet era began."

"Regarding some individuals' predictions, every single one has come true so far."

He looked directly at Evelyn.

"They can predict a person's death, even the cause, time, and location."

"Some who believed them avoided the disaster at that moment."

"Others who didn't believe died exactly at that time and place."

Alexander's gaze remained on Evelyn.

"To date, none of their publicly released predictions have failed."

"However, since the internet era, over the past few decades, I've only managed to record a little over a hundred predictions made by the Sterling Family."

In other words, the Sterling Family predicted extremely rarely.

With a global population of seven billion, only a little over a hundred individuals had been deemed worthy of a Sterling Family prediction...

Evelyn frowned, deep in thought.

Alexander smiled.

"All the other individuals were major figures from various fields overseas."

"Those who heeded the warnings avoided disasters and remained fiercely loyal to the Sterling Family."

"Those who didn't... died."

"And within China, Joseph Cortez is the first person on record to receive a prediction!"

Evelyn's eyes lit up.

"So, whether the Sterling Family's predictive ability is real or not depends on Joseph this time!"

Alexander smiled and patted her head.

"Right. It all comes down to this."

"I'll have many people investigate around the Truman family and keep Joseph under constant surveillance."

Evelyn nodded.

Then she spoke again.

"Alexander, do you believe in metaphysics?"

Alexander shook his head.

"No."

"Neither do I," Evelyn said calmly and firmly.

"So, let's put this prophecy to the test and see what it really is!"

"Alright."

Alexander took her hand.

"Grace, remember this."

"My fate is in my own hands, not heaven's."

"No one in this world can control your destiny!"

Evelyn nodded emphatically.

Joseph Cortez received the message Alexander had Thomas Watson relay around noon.

He had just woken from his nap.

Despite being only thirty, his routine was like an elderly person's, very regular.

A fixed twenty-minute nap every day was a must for him.

Joseph frowned as he read the message his assistant handed him.

He then looked at the person beside him and asked, "What is Aaron doing?"

"He's accompanying the Second Madam on a walk."

The maid replied immediately.

Joseph stood up, lowering his gaze.

"I'll go see them."

He went downstairs.

From a distance, he saw Aaron Truman supporting Cecilia Evans's arm.

The two were walking in the shade of the back garden.

Cecilia did not want to walk!

But Aaron had insisted, saying it was good for her health...

He was the one who was sick and needed exercise, so why did she have to accompany him?

Also, Cecilia had always preferred strong, spicy flavors.

So did Aaron.

But today's lunch had been all bland dishes.

Because Aaron was sick, even the meals had to be this bland for her?

He was being very domineering, saying no spicy dishes were allowed on the table from now on.

So overbearing!

While Cecilia was inwardly complaining, Aaron sighed.

Afraid Cecilia might be tempted by the spicy dishes or crave them, he hadn't allowed the kitchen to serve any, even though he loved spicy food too.

He looked at Cecilia beside him, his heart filled with tenderness.

This was his beloved...

Even if it meant losing everything, he would cure her illness!

Thinking this, Aaron asked with concern, "Cecilia, are you sure you really couldn't find the property deeds?"

"How could they just disappear?"

Cecilia sighed.

"Maybe I misplaced them somewhere."

"Sometimes it's like that. When you want to find something, you just can't..."

Aaron frowned.

"But I'm in a hurry..."

Cecilia's eyes flickered.

"Then I'll look for them again later."

As soon as she finished speaking, a cold voice came from behind.

"No need to look."

They turned to see Joseph walking over with a stern expression.

His gaze fell on Cecilia.

He threw the property deeds in front of her.

"Sister-in-law, you gave these to someone else, didn't you?"

"Why were you secretly trying to sell and mortgage the properties?"

Cecilia was startled, her face instantly turning pale.
